The Fernandes Nanomedicine and Immunoengineering Lab develops multifunctional nanoparticles, cell-based immunotherapies, and combination nanoparticle-cell therapies for theranostic applications, i.e. therapy and diagnostic applications, in human health (e.g. cancers and infectious diseases). We ask fundamental questions on how our engineered platforms interact with living matter (cells, tissue, organs, organisms) with the goal of generating efficacious and safe interventions for treating diverse diseases.
